Morning Mayor, Lifestyle Jules and Bobby D. Ehlert Play Hosts
Local Tech Gurus, Fyresite, Demonstrates the Potential of Event Livestreaming
Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix Cancer Support Network (PCSN) hosted its first virtual gala and auction for its 4th Annual Friendraiser on August 15, 2020 and raised the most funding to date supporting its cancer clients. The $55k raised will help the nonprofit fill cancer care gaps providing resources, guidance, and direction to patients and their caregivers. The event was live streamed from Chateau Luxe, and was hosted by the renowned “Morning Mayor,” media innovator and entrepreneur, Dave Pratt along with the Valley’s own lifestyle personality & fitness expert, Lifestyle Jules and world champion auctioneer, Bobby D. Ehlert of Inspire Hearts Fundraising.
The live and silent auctions offered items for everyone and lively bidding contributed $12,000 to PCSN’s mission. Auction items included an in-home dining experience with certified Wagyu Beef Chef, David Duarte and a Star Worldwide package featuring a year of weekly podcasts including professional production and marketing support.
Fyresite powered the streaming element with technical know-how and its innovative approach. Primarily focused on developing software, apps and websites, Fyresite partnered with Wulfenbear & High Road Productions to present high quality, multi-channel streaming broadcast which may be viewed here. “This was especially exciting because we believe so strongly in PCSN’s mission,” said Jason Turnquist, Fyresite’s Co-Founder. “We were able to leverage cutting edge technology to create one of the first completely virtual, multifaceted fundraising events and are starting to see some incredible opportunities as we pair different technologies.”
Emcees, Dave Pratt & Lifestyle Jules raffled three generous prizes including a Tito’s Golf bag and assorted matching gear, John Walker & Sons Odyssey Whisky and Gift Card to the JW Marriott Camelback Inn.
Viewers were treated to mixology and cooking demos from local Valley Ho favorite, PJ Baron and Chef Don Royer. Guests were also serenaded by the laid-back soulful sounds of Will Evans, who summed up the spirit of the event with his new release: All My Relations, “It only takes one light to drive out the darkness.”
PCSN clients provided inspiring stories including a local father of two young children and husband currently battling stage 4 colon cancer. “With new treatments and new changes in my treatment plan, PCSN has helped me find the right doctors,” Casey said. “And through it all this is made possible by everyone’s donations and their generosity which helps everyone in this network that is receiving services. Cancer is such a hard thing; it not only affects your body, but it affects everything around you,” he added. “The fact that PCSN can take some of that burden off your shoulders so you can focus on getting healthy and better is huge.” PCSN is able to provide financial relief, advocacy, and resources to support clients like Casey and his family all made possible by donors and volunteers.
Compromised health, and resource limitations, make everyday tasks daunting for people going through cancer treatment. PCSN provides relief for some of these immense needs serving as a safety net and helping to fill in the gaps that exist in cancer support.
“PCSN is truly a network of compassionate people giving time and donations driving our mission. This event demonstrates the support we have from our community,” explained PCSN’s Founder and CEO, Jenny Martin. “Everything we do is a labor of love and is made possible by donors and volunteers.”
