Arizona Media Legend, Dave Pratt to Emcee
PCSN and Chateau Luxe will honor Dr. Manohar Singh to raise money for cancer patients
Phoenix, AZ –Phoenix Cancer Support Network (PCSN) is proud to announce its 3rd PCSN FRIENDRAISER taking place August 24, 2019. The August event serves as PCSN’s primary fundraiser and hopes to raise the necessary resources for the coming year. This year’s PCSN FRIENDRAISER differs from prior, smaller iterations held at a home, to a Gala. This growth is in lockstep with PCSN’s expanding role assisting cancer patients and their loved ones.
Arizona Broadcast Hall of Famer and media entrepreneur “Morning Mayor,” Dave Pratt is serving as emcee to help raise the critical funding needed to continue to serve members of the community. “As a cancer survivor, I personally understand the importance and the need for PCSN. I am very proud to be part of PCSN for this marquee event and to support PCSN throughout the entire year.”
Phoenix renowned Chateau Luxe is hosting the Gala. Chateau Luxe’s generous donation of the food and venue will provide the perfect setting for a meaningful night with entertainment, special guests, a silent auction and fabulous raffle prizes. “We are honored to partner with PCSN on the 2019 Friendraiser. We are especially privileged to recognize our dear friend, the late Dr. Manohar Singh and we look forward to hearing from his family on the influence he had in their lives and among the medical community,” remarked Deepika Bhalla, owner of Chateau Luxe. The recent passing of Dr. Manohar Singh, a loss felt by many, will be recognized.
“With the help of donors and local business sponsors like Chateau Luxe, Celebration Stem Cell Centre and Envoy, we hope to raise sufficient funds so we can both address and shine a light on everyday needs of those dealing with cancer,” explains Jenny Martin, Founder and CEO of PCSN.
PCSN humbly began around Founder, Jenny Martin’s parents’ kitchen table with a dream to give support to cancer patients and their loved ones. At a time, which should have been about beginnings, the Weber family experienced cancer’s devastating toll, when Jenny’s college aged sister Annie, lost her battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Jenny used skills and connections acquired during a career dedicated to oncology to gather a posse of professionals, including her father Dr. Jeffrey Weber (2018 ArMA Distinguished Service Award), all sharing tales of cancer’s often painful weight to launch PCSN.
Today PCSN proudly serves hundreds of community members confronted with a cancer diagnosis. The personal hands-on assistance provided by PCSN is needed more than ever in today’s healthcare landscape. Annually, over 1.6 million cases of cancer are diagnosed, and 595,690 people will lose their battle in the United States. Patients and loved ones confront a myriad of challenges for which there is too little help available. Routine demands previously taken for granted, now complicated by the physical and emotional impact of illness and treatment impact the daily lives of everyone involved. PCSN helps provide solutions for planning and coordination for medical appointments, transportation, caring for young children, bill paying assistance and meal preparation.
